A Muslim marriage should begin with knowing Allah and understanding what He expects from us. Before becoming husband and wife, both people should understand why Allah created us, the purpose of marriage and the rights Allah has given to each spouse. In Islam, the marriage agreement is called a Nikaah. A Nikaah is the Islamic marriage agreement between a man and a woman that makes them married according to Islam. Before the Nikaah, we want couples to understand Tawheed, the oneness of Allah. Tawheed means believing that Allah alone is worthy of worship and singling out Allah alone in all of our worship. We also teach couples the basic rules, rights and responsibilities of marriage upon The Qur’aan & Sunnah as Understood by the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) of this Ummah.
