This Hindi language course is designed for both elementary and high school students whose first language is Hindi. It focuses on building strong vocabulary, speaking confidence, and everyday communication skills.

The course has two levels:

  • Level 1 (Elementary) – Simple words, short sentences, role-play and games.
  • Level 2 (High School) – Expanded vocabulary, full sentences, structured dialogues and short writing exercises.

Unit 1: Greetings and Introductions (नमस्ते और परिचय)

Objective: Students will learn how to greet, introduce themselves, and ask someone’s name politely.

Vocabulary Focus: Hello (नमस्ते), goodbye (अलविदा), thank you (धन्यवाद), how are you? (आप कैसे हैं?), I’m fine (मैं ठीक हूँ), my name is… (मेरा नाम … है), what’s your name? (आपका नाम क्या है?), nice to meet you (आपसे मिलकर खुशी हुई).

  • Level 1 Activities: Greeting circle game, name-swap role-play, greeting song.
  • Level 2 Activities: Dialogue practice (meeting for the first time), short written self-introduction, cultural discussion on greeting elders vs friends.

Unit 2: My Family (मेरा परिवार)

Objective: Students can name family members and describe simple relationships.

Vocabulary Focus: Mother (माँ), father (पिता), sister (बहन), brother (भाई), grandmother (दादी), grandfather (दादा), aunt (चाची), uncle (चाचा), cousin (चचेरा भाई/बहन), this is my… (यह मेरा/मेरी … है), he/she is my… (वह मेरा/मेरी … है).

  • Level 1 Activities: Draw and label a family tree, “Guess who?” family game.
  • Level 2 Activities: Write 5–8 sentences about your family, interview a partner about their family, share cultural differences in family structure.

Unit 3: My Home and Neighborhood (मेरा घर और मोहल्ला)

Objective: Students can name rooms, objects, and nearby places, and describe where things are.

Vocabulary Focus: Bedroom (सोने का कमरा), kitchen (रसोई), living room (बैठक), temple (मंदिर), park (पार्क), shop (दुकान), school (स्कूल), near (पास), far (दूर), next to (के बगल में).

  • Level 1 Activities: Picture labeling of rooms, “Where is it?” object-finding game.
  • Level 2 Activities: Describe your house in 6–10 sentences, create a simple neighborhood map and present it.

Unit 4: My Daily Life (मेरा दैनिक जीवन)

Objective: Students can talk about daily routines using simple present tense.

Vocabulary Focus: Wake up (जागना), eat breakfast (नाश्ता करना), go to school (स्कूल जाना), study (पढ़ाई करना), play (खेलना), pray (प्रार्थना करना), sleep (सोना), every day (हर दिन), in the morning (सुबह), in the evening (शाम).

  • Level 1 Activities: Routine flashcard matching, act-out daily activities.
  • Level 2 Activities: Write a daily routine paragraph, pair-share routines and find similarities.

Unit 5: Food and Shopping (खाना और खरीदारी)

Objective: Students can name common foods and drinks, ask for items, and talk about preferences.

Vocabulary Focus: Rice (चावल), bread (रोटी), tea (चाय), milk (दूध), meat (मांस), chicken (मुर्गा), banana (केला), orange (संतरा), sugar (चीनी), price (कीमत), I like… (मुझे … पसंद है), I want… (मुझे … चाहिए), how much? (कितना?).

  • Level 1 Activities: “What’s in the basket?” shopping game, food tasting with naming.
  • Level 2 Activities: Role-play shopkeeper and customer, create a short shopping list and present it.

Unit 6: School Life (स्कूल जीवन)

Objective: Students can talk about school subjects, people, and objects in the classroom.

Vocabulary Focus: Teacher (अध्यापक/शिक्षक), student (विद्यार्थी), desk (मेज़), chair (कुर्सी), book (किताब), pen (कलम), math (गणित), science (विज्ञान), Hindi (हिंदी), art (कला), favorite (पसंदीदा), subject (विषय).

  • Level 1 Activities: Classroom item scavenger hunt, “Find your subject” matching game.
  • Level 2 Activities: Write about your favorite subject and why, role-play a teacher–student conversation.

Unit 7: Travel and Places (यात्रा और स्थान)

Objective: Students can name means of transport and places, and ask for/give directions.

Vocabulary Focus: Bus (बस), car (गाड़ी), bicycle (साइकिल), airport (हवाई अड्डा), station (स्टेशन), turn left (बाएँ मुड़ो), turn right (दाएँ मुड़ो), straight (सीधे जाओ), where is…? (… कहाँ है?), I’m going to… (मैं … जा रहा/रही हूँ).

  • Level 1 Activities: Transport picture match, role-play asking for a place.
  • Level 2 Activities: Draw a map and guide a partner, write a short travel plan to a chosen city.

Unit 8: Weather and Seasons (मौसम और ऋतुएँ)

Objective: Students can describe weather and seasons, and express preferences.

Vocabulary Focus: Sunny (धूप), rainy (बारिश), windy (हवादार), cloudy (बादल), hot (गरम), cold (ठंडा), spring (वसंत), summer (गर्मी), autumn (पतझड़), winter (सर्दी).

  • Level 1 Activities: Weather flashcard bingo, weather-song with actions.
  • Level 2 Activities: Write a weather report, compare weather in two seasons.

Unit 9: Health and Feelings (स्वास्थ्य और भावनाएँ)

Objective: Students can describe basic health problems and express emotions.

Vocabulary Focus: Headache (सिर दर्द), stomachache (पेट दर्द), fever (बुखार), happy (खुश), sad (दुखी), tired (थका हुआ), angry (गुस्सा), sick (बीमार), I feel… (मुझे … लग रहा है), I need… (मुझे … चाहिए).

  • Level 1 Activities: Feelings charades, “Doctor and patient” role-play.
  • Level 2 Activities: Write advice for common illnesses, discuss ways to stay healthy.
