This Urdu course is designed for students whose first language is Urdu or who speak it at home, aiming to strengthen vocabulary, conversational skills, and cultural understanding. Level 1 focuses on basic communication, while Level 2 develops more advanced dialogue, writing, and cultural discussions.

Unit 1: Greetings and Self-Introduction (سلام اور تعارف)

Objective: Students can greet, introduce themselves, and ask basic questions.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Hello, goodbye, thank you, how are you?, my name is…, what’s your name?, nice to meet you.

  • Level 1 Activities: Greeting circle game, name swap role-play, greeting song.

  • Level 2 Activities: Structured dialogues for meeting someone, short written self-introduction, discussion about formal vs informal greetings.


Unit 2: Family and Relationships (خاندان اور رشتہ دار)

Objective: Students can name family members and describe relationships.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Mother, father, sister, brother, grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, cousin, this is my…, he/she is my…

  • Level 1 Activities: Family tree drawing and labeling, “Guess who?” game.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write a short paragraph about family, interview a classmate about their family, compare cultural family structures.


Unit 3: My School and Classroom (میرا اسکول اور کلاس روم)

Objective: Students can talk about school subjects, people, and classroom objects.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Teacher, student, desk, chair, book, pen, subjects (Math, Science, Urdu, English, Art), favorite, subject.

  • Level 1 Activities: Classroom scavenger hunt, subject matching game.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write about your favorite subject, role-play a student-teacher conversation.


Unit 4: Daily Activities and Routines (روزمرہ سرگرمیاں)

Objective: Students can describe daily routines and common activities.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Wake up, eat breakfast, go to school, study, play, sleep, every day, morning, evening.

  • Level 1 Activities: Routine flashcards, act-out daily routines.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write a paragraph about your day, compare routines with a classmate.


Unit 5: Food and Eating Out (کھانا اور باہر کھانا)

Objective: Students can name foods, drinks, and order in a restaurant.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Rice, bread, tea, milk, meat, chicken, fruits, vegetables, I like…, I want…, how much?

  • Level 1 Activities: Food flashcards, pretend restaurant game.

  • Level 2 Activities: Role-play ordering at a restaurant, make a short menu and present it.


Unit 6: Hobbies and Free Time (مشغلے اور فارغ وقت)

Objective: Students can talk about hobbies, sports, and leisure activities.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Reading, drawing, playing football, singing, dancing, watching TV, favorite hobby.

  • Level 1 Activities: Show-and-tell your hobby, hobby charades.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write 5–8 sentences about your hobbies, interview classmates and compare interests.


Unit 7: Places Around Us (ہمارے ارد گرد کے مقامات)

Objective: Students can describe common places and ask for directions.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Mosque, school, park, market, hospital, street, left, right, straight, where is…?

  • Level 1 Activities: Map labeling, “find the place” game.

  • Level 2 Activities: Draw a neighborhood map and give directions, write a short travel plan.


Unit 8: Weather and Seasons (موسم اور سال کے اوقات)

Objective: Students can describe weather and express seasonal preferences.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, hot, cold, spring, summer, autumn, winter.

  • Level 1 Activities: Weather flashcard bingo, action song about seasons.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write a weather report, compare two seasons, discuss favorite season.


Unit 9: Health and Feelings (صحت اور احساسات)

Objective: Students can describe basic health problems and express feelings.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Headache, stomachache, fever, happy, sad, tired, angry, sick, I feel…, I need…

  • Level 1 Activities: Feelings charades, doctor-patient role-play.

  • Level 2 Activities: Write advice for common illnesses, discuss ways to stay healthy.


Unit 10: Festivals and Culture (تہوار اور ثقافت)

Objective: Students can talk about Pakistani/Urdu-speaking culture, festivals, and traditions.

  • Vocabulary Focus: Eid, wedding, Independence Day, dance, clothes, food, congratulations, welcome, gift.

  • Level 1 Activities: Draw your favorite festival, learn festival greetings.

  • Level 2 Activities: Present a cultural tradition, interview someone about a celebration.
